Vietnam: From Revolution to State Socialism and Đổi Mới, 1945–2025 is an introductory six-session online module on the major turning points in Vietnam’s modern history. It examines the August Revolution of 1945; the wars from 1946 to 1975 that culminated in national reunification; the development of state socialism in the Democratic Republic of Vietnam and its extension to the South after 1975; the postwar crisis of reunification; and the Đổi Mới reforms and their consequences. The module is designed for a broad audience and requires no prior study of Vietnam.
